The Square with Fountain

Squares were not in focus when building the modern infrastructure of Greenland. This is one of the only ones and boasts the only public fountain in Greenland.

Qaqortoq is one of the only towns in Greenland that has a square. On the square, you find a beautiful fountain built in the so-called Igaliku stone. These stones are transported here from the nearby village called Igaliku. The square is surrounded by beautiful colonial houses that house everything from shops, a bakery, a restaurant, and a museum.
