Pilersuisoq has a history that dates back to the Royal Greenlandic Trade (KGH) which began approximately 250 years ago. In the 1980s, the trading company was divided into two entities: Pisiffik, which operates as a commercial business, and Pilersuisoq, which provides essential daily goods to remote areas that would otherwise be unable to sustain a viable business without subsidies.
