Apussuit Skiing Center is a ski center located on top of a glacier near the town of Maniitsoq. It offers skiing activities and accommodation for guests.
Apussuit Skiing Center is the name of a ski resort located atop a glacier about 25 kilometers from the town of Maniitsoq. The region is roughly 250 km2 in the summer but significantly larger in the winter. Skiing is a popular activity in the region. To reach the ski center, you sail to the Apussuit harbor and then hike to the ski terrain or drive with one of Apussuit's vehicles. The terrain goes from 150 to 1,200 meters above sea level. The center itself can hold 14 visitors, while five additional cabins farther down the mountain can hold 20 guests. The name of Apussuit is Greenlandic and means 'The Great Snow.'
