Old shop and village manager's residence
Restored historic buildings in Ilimanaq now serve as a multifunctional space with a reception, restaurant, museum, and conference facilities for Ilimanaq Lodge.
The Danish Foundation Real Dania has successfully restored two remarkable listed buildings in Ilimanaq. These buildings, the former settlement manager's residence and the grocery store, have been transformed into a multifunctional space housing a reception, restaurant, museum, and conference facilities. As you arrive in Ilimanaq, the striking black restaurant, situated near the harbor, warmly welcomes you. Adjacent to the restaurant, you'll find the reception for the esteemed Ilimanaq Lodge. The manager's residence, dating back to 1751, carries a rich history, serving various roles over the years, including housing priests, missionaries, traders, and functioning as a village office and leather workshop. These ancient buildings hold countless captivating tales within their walls.
