Naalakatta Illua Church
A church called Naalakatta Illua was moved from the coal mining town of Qullissat to Ilulissat after the town closed in 1972.
The church Naalakatta Illua, meaning House of the Lord, shares a fate with a lot of churches throughout Greenland. Whenever newer churches were build, the smaller churches would have to move. Naalakatta Illua used to be a church in the coal mining town, Qullissat. When the town closed in 1972, the church was moved, and you can now visit it in Ilulissat.
