Annaassisitta Oqaluffia (Our Savoir Church)

The historic church in the colonial harbor district, built in 1848-9, is the cathedral of Greenland.
The Church of Our Savior, Annaassisitta Oqaluffia in Greenlandic, is located in the historic port area of Nuuk. It is the official Cathedral of Greenland, even though it is not the largest church. It was erected in 1848–1849. The church was funded by a contribution from Ms. Karen Ørsted, in contrast to most other churches in Greenland that were paid by the local people. It may seem to be a grand gesture from a Danish woman, and there are rumors that she was involved with Poul Egede, the son of Hans Egede, colonizer of Greenland's father.
