Experience Ilulissat (Days 2-8)
Ilulissat means icebergs, which is rather self-explanatory once you get to see the beautiful Ice Fjord and the numerous icebergs majestically floating around
Ilulissat Art Museum
A historical building turned museum, Ilulissat Art Museum showcases the works of Emanuel A. Petersen and hosts changing exhibitions by visual artists.
Located in the former residence of the colony manager, designed by the renowned architect Helge B. Møller and constructed in 1923, lies the Ilulissat Art Museum. Its doors first opened to the public in 1995, and it houses a permanent exhibition on the ground floor, showcasing the works of Emanuel A. Petersen, forming the foundation of the museum's collection. On the first floor, visitors can indulge in the changing exhibitions of various visual artists. During the summer months, guests are invited to explore the adjacent arctic kitchen garden, adding to the overall cultural experience.
