Ilulissat is known as the "city of icebergs", and when visiting the town, you should take a boat trip to the mouth of the Icefjord. Here, you can witness the stunning view of enormous icebergs that have grounded by the mouth of the Ilulissat Icefjord. Sailing near the icebergs is a breathtaking experience, and the captains bring their boats as close to the ice as safety allows. Taking a boat trip in the daytime and then again in the evening, when the midnight sun spreads a golden hue, is recommended. The Ilulissat Icefjord is one of the sources of the largest icebergs in the Northern Hemisphere, with some of them towering up to 70 meters above sea level.
