The coastal ship sails up and down the west coast and is very popular among the Greenlanders. When the ship docks in coastal towns, you will experience happy reunions when the locals pick up their long-awaited friends and family.
The M/S Sarfaq Ittuk is Greenland's beloved coastal passenger ship, sailing the full length of the west coast and serving as a lifeline between communities. Built in 1992 and extended in 2000, the 73-metre vessel carries up to 274 passengers and a crew of 22. On board are a café, panoramic lounge, playroom, and a medical clinic. Cabins for 1–4 people are all exterior with sea views and en-suite facilities. The ship's route through remote, light-pollution-free waters makes it an exceptional platform for northern lights viewing, while arrivals at small ports offer spontaneous glimpses of Greenlandic community life.
